Mombaça – Afro Memória e Pretinhosidade
Mombaça launches via Biscoito Fino the third CD of his career, Afro-Memória + Pretinhosidade.
Born into a musical family, Mombaça began to sing when he was five years old, at the Baptist church in Jardim 7 de Abril, Paciência (in the west zone of Rio de Janeiro), where he was born and raised. The first album of his career, titled Mombaça was recorded in 1999, and released in 2000 and already featured his friend Mart’nália.
His second album was released in 2002, with the title Afro Memória. Mombaça was inspired while he participated in the third World Conference Against Racism ( World Conference against Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance ) in Durban, South Africa.
In 2007, because of the great success of the song Pretinhosidade, sung by his partner Mart’nália, Mombaça decided to reedit his second CD and release Afro Memória + Pretinhosidade.
